Srinagar: A trial Court at Srinagar on Monday granted bail to the in-laws of a woman accused of domestic violence and criminal intimidation on conditions to cooperate with investigating officer when required.

The court of Khursheed-Ul-Islam while granting bail to the accused persons for the offences under sections 498A (cruelty/abuse towards woman) 506 IPC (criminal intimidation) under FIR No.12/2024 registered at police station Zakura noted that the submissions made by both the parties and in particular the police report reveals that the accused persons are involved in the offences which are bailable.

“As such the bail cannot be rejected,” court said.

“Thus, the accused persons are enlarged on bail subject to the furnishing of their bail bonds and personal bonds to the tune of Rs.50,000/- each which they have furnished before the court,” Justice Islam said.

However, the court said that the accused shall remain present before the Investigation officer during the investigation if and when required.

“The applicants/accused shall not leave the jurisdiction of Kashmir province without prior permission of the court and shall not try to tamper or hamper with the prosecution evidence in any manner whatsoever,” court directed.

Justice Islam further directed that the accused shall cooperate in the investigation as and when required.
