Srinagar: To address the disposal of specific issues concerning the dal lake in Kashmir, the High Court of J&K and Ladakh on Wednesday directed Amicus in the matter to put forth his detailed views on the report suggested by the government authorities for protecting and saving the lake.
On previous hearing, the court had ordered authorities to provide detailed perspectives on how to address cleanliness of the lake, stopping flow of sewage, stoppage, and removal stoppage and removal of unauthorized constructions around the lake and management of problems concerning the houseboats.
The court of chief Justice while recording the submission made by Deputy advocate General, Syed Musaib submitted documents detailing the suggestions/perspectives of the authorities pursuant to the court order.
“let these documents be scanned and placed on record,” Chief Justice N.Kotiswar Singh said.
The court also said that a copy of these documents be furnished to the Amicus Curiae in open Court.
“He (Amicus-Zafar Shah) shall give his views on these suggestions put forth by the respondents on or before the next date of hearing,” court said.
The Court also noted and recorded that although we had expressed our desire for the matter to be listed weekly, the submission of voluminous documents containing suggestions/perspectives from the authorities requires review by the learned Amicus Curiae.
“Consequently, we direct that the matter be listed on 22 July to allow sufficient time to the learned Amicus Curiae for analysis,” court ordered.
